What does Number X do?

Number X is a Merchant of record for digital businesses, enabling tax compliance on the US, EU and UK markets. We handle all local taxes for you (VAT, GST, Sales tax, SST, Consumption tax) in 50+ countries, including collecting, accounting for and paying it to Tax Authorities. This is very different from a regular Payment Service Providers like Stripe or Adyen, that do not handle local compliance and taxes. Not doing this properly in any country you’re selling, exposes you to potential fines, penalties and other legal issues. Number X offloads this work for you but also provides chargeback/refund management, localized checkout, end user support, fraud prevention and monitoring.

How does the Number X pricing work?

Number X charges a flat 5 % fee on each sale of your digital goods. It involves tax compliance (VAT calculation and remittance), end user support, chargeback and refund management, fraud monitoring and prevention, regulatory compliance (PSD-2, GDPR, CCPA etc.), webstore builder and digital goods monetization toolkit (exclusive pricing on leading CPA networks, ads credit & cashback).

How easy is it to integrate with Number X?

Most digital businesses have integrated with Number X and started to monetize their content within 24 hours.

Do I have to integrate again every time I want to add a new payment method?

With Number X API, you only have to integrate once to access all supported payment methods now and in the future. Adding a new payment method is as simple as getting in touch with your Number X account manager to enable it.

What payment methods does Number X offer?

In addition to supporting major credit and debit card schemes by Visa, Mastercard and Amex, we offer more than 200 major and local payment methods covering all major markets in the US, LATAM, Europe, Middle East and the Asia Pacific.

Does Number X support Apple Pay and Google Pay?

How secure is the Number X? Is it PCI DSS compliant?

The Number X platform is PCI DSS certified (Level 1), meaning that all data is protected at highest international standards.

What taxes do you handle?

We manage indirect purchase-related digital taxes (including VAT, GST etc.) for SaaS, Edutech, gaming, and other digital companies anywhere in the world.

What if a customer is tax-exempt?

Number X supports tax-exempt purchases for customers around the world. Our checkout seamlessly manages all these situations (zero rate, tax exempt etc.)

Do you support tax collection and remittance in different U.S. states?

Number X collects and files sales tax in every state with a sales tax regime, 45 in total. Excludes Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon.

How is the value-added tax (VAT) applied to online sales?

Value-added tax (VAT) exists in over 50 countries around the world. Tax administration vary widely based on the product type, location of the buyer, and some other factors, that can change over time. We monitor tax legislation of these countries that apply some type of VAT to online purchases continuously.
